Machine Learning for Making Predictions

93 students

Machine learning is the science of getting computers to learn like humans do and improve their learning over time by feeding them lots of data. This workshop will provide you with an introduction to machine learning. After completing this workshop, you will be able to use Python and machine learning to make predictions. Specifically, you’ll learn

  • What Machine Learning is
  • Machine Learning algorithms and how to choose an appropriate model
  • Preparing your data for model input
  • Training and evaluating your Machine Learning model
  • Using your model to make predictions

You will learn these tools all within the context of solving real world machine learning problems. This workshop features:

  • One (1) lesson module with video lectures and interactive Jupyter notebooks
  • Two (2) lesson projects
  • One (1) end of workshop project that demonstrates the use of machine learning in the real world

This is a self-paced workshop that contains assignments without due dates. You can progress through the course at your own speed or at the speed set by your instructor. This workshop is great for young and/or beginner data scientists and requires no prerequisite programming knowledge.

Prerequisite suggested: Python for Data Science

Math and Technology @ Work is learning simplified.
